Hugh on Dennis Miller Last Night

Blog.jpgDriving home yesterday I caught the last few minutes of Hugh Hewitt's radio broadcast. He encouraged his listeners to watch him flog Blog on Dennis Miller's show that evening, so I clicked on the tube when I got home to check it out. Miller's intro was very shaky and a bit R-rated, but Hugh did a fine job with his segment.

If you haven't purchased your copy of Blog, please do. The book will help you understand better what this project is all about. (Disclosure: Hugh flogs the old SCO a couple of times, but that's not why I'm encouraging you to buy his book. Buy and read the book because it's good and will teach you a few things about the new media!)

Wow! I'm impressed. Looks crisp and clean, and I know the content's going to be excellent. One sad note though: I appear to be off the blogroll. :(

I read Hugh's book In, But Not Of, and found it informative and relevant to our time. I passed it on to my older children who must make their way in this world without losing their Christian identity.

Looks like I'll have to pick up Blog to stay current with the expanding blogosphere.

Actually, I thought this was one of Hugh's weaker tv appearances. He insulted most bloggers by saying that only the top 200 (in terms of traffic) or so matter. When saying this he made a dismissive comment about some blogs being read by brothers-in-law, etc. This message seems to run counter to his own book, Blog.

Really interloper? I didn't take it like that at all. Hugh didn't couch the "brothers-in-law" in terms of the tail, and perhaps that was his mistake, but I didn't take his comments to mean that only the top 200 matter the way you seem to. Let's face it; the top 200 hundred have great power to set the agenda for most of the low traffic bloggers. In that sense, the top 200 hundred are all that matter.

Rick, Thanks for making my point.
