I'd like to enter your contest. But for some reason, fully 95% of the hits documented by SiteMeter for my blog list "Referring URL" as "UNKNOWN."

I've tried to rectify it by all the means suggested by SiteMeter on their FAQ site, but to no avail.

Do any of your readers have any suggestions as to how I can fix this issue?

Mark, did you install the JAVA Script HTML for the Site Meter? If not, that should do it. If so, I'd write the folks at Site Meter and pose the question. They've been pretty responsive to my requests.

One other explanation for the "UNKNOWN" referrals is that 95% of your visitors have you bookmarked and visit your site directly, rather than via another blog link. I think that low referral traffic and high direct link traffic is the best sign of a loyal readership. If the Site Meter folks don't see anything wrong with your site meter, then that could be what happened - and congratulations is in order!
